De briljant is sinds lang de standaard geweest voor schittering en helderheid. Vele nieuwe slijpvormen werden ontwikkeld om de schittering en helderheid te verhogen, allen met wisselend sukses.

Dit gebeurde meestal door de achttallige symmetrie te wijzigen of door het aantal facetten drastisch te verhogen.

De Antwerp Twin is speciaal in zijn soort. Door kroon en paviljoen ongeveer dezelfde vorm te geven krijgt de diamant een meer sferisch uitzicht. Deze symmetrie tussen boven- en onderkant gaf de slijpvorm zijn naam.

Door deze symmetrie en door het zeer nauwkeurig kiezen van de hoeken van de kroon- en paviljoenfacetten, worden alle facetten meermaals gereflekteerd in een bovenzicht wat aanleiding geeft tot een enorme toename van schittering en helderheid, ongezien in de andere slijpvormen.

Dit wordt ook bewezen in de Gemex BrillianceScope, die deze diamanten een zeer hoge en zelfs buiten schaal schittering geeft ver boven andere slijpvormen en een hoge tot zeer hoge helderheid.

The superb sparkle and brilliance of the ANTWERP TWINS ®.

The brilliant cut has been the standard for good brilliance and sparkle for a long time. Many other cuts have been created to increase the brilliance and sparkle, all with varying success.

This was mainly achieved by altering the 8-fold symmetry or largely increasing the number of facets.

The ANTWERP TWINS ® is special in its kind. By creating a crown and pavilion having almost the same cut, the diamond gets a more spherical shape. This top/bottom equalness gave the cut its name.

Due to this symmetry and by carefully selecting the correct facet angles of crown and pavilion, all facets are multiply reflected in a crown view creating an enormous increase in brilliance and sparkle, unseen in other cuts.

This is also witnessed by the Gemex BrillianceScope, giving these diamonds a very high and even out of scale sparkle value surpassing all standard cuts and a high to very high brilliance.

基于这种对称以及对冠面和斜面角度的精确选择，所有切面从冠面上看去重叠折射，由此光芒闪耀。这在其他切割法中是完全看不到的。

From May 1 to October 31 2010, the next World Expo will take place in Shanghai.
